Coaches Meeting - Tuesday, June 3 at 5:30pm
at the Armory (corner of 7th and Ash)

This meeting is the first of two coaches meetings that will be held prior to the start of the 2008 season. If you have read through the coaches code of conduct you will see that it is a requirement that everyone interested in being a coach in the CYFL needs to attend at least one coaches meeting. A date hasn’t been set for the second meeting, but it will be held sometime in July.

At this meeting we will discuss the upcoming season to get your thoughts on what can be done to make the CYFL better from a coach’s point of view. We will also watch the videos and take the test needed to be certified or recertified through NYSCA. If you are already certified please bring your membership card with you.

At this time I have received ten coaches applications and coaches code of conduct. I have attached both forms to this e-mail; please fill them out and either mail them (to CFYL at P.O. Box 7052, Columbia, MO 65205 by July 1, 2008) or bring them to the meeting. There will be extra copies of the forms at the meeting. The earlier we can have all of the coaching positions filled the smoother the drafts and tryouts will go. Note, the coaches code of conduct refers to the rules, which can be found at http://www.columbiayouthfootball.com/rules_main.html.

CYFL Coaching Application

If you would like to coach in the CYFL, please fill out an application and the Coaches Code of Conduct Form and either send it to the below address or turn them into the league president (Chad Henry - 864-1988). If you submit the form electronically, you will be required to sign the document before coaching.

Online Certification Information:

You must be certified by the NYSCA to coach in the CYFL. There is now an online certification process at the NYSCA website. If you are a NEW coach, you NEED to be certified. Certification is valid for 1 year and costs $20. You can pay for more than one year, if you would like. The CYFL will reimburse the cost, but you have to be a coach on a team to qualify. Certification deadline is July 31.
